TECSA took part in the usual international meeting organized by the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) on performance-oriented fire-fighting engineering.
The 12th International Conference “Performance-Based Codes and Fire Safety Design Methods” was held in the period April 23-27 in Honolulu (Hawaii), USA.
Luca Fiorentini, director of TECSA, participated as a speaker for two interventions related respectively to a “risk based” approach for the establishment of a solid fire prevention strategy and the illustration of an Italian case study completely developed according to engineering techniques oriented to the connected performance with a hospital housed in a high-rise building. The case study, at the end of the presentation, was the subject of a specific round table which was also attended by the group of Finland under the guidance of chairman Ijsbrand Van Straalen (TNO). The development of the case study, conducted in several months of work, was coordinated by Luca Fiorentini and led by TECSA S.r.l. and Rimond S.p.A. with the support of some members of the National Fire Brigade, the Polytechnic University of Turin and the University of Roma Tre.
