TECSA completed evacuation system verification during emergency conditions for a Ro-Pax ferry boat under design against the IMO 2016 requirements and using the IMO specific guidelines for advanced evacuation studies. Pedestrian evacuation simulations have been conducted using an agent-based validated tool. Monte Carlo approach allowed the consideration of at least 500 calculation runs for each scenario associated to each use case of the vessel. Activity resulted in positive verification of all the requirements and, at the same time, with specific insights conducted, in the identification of local situations that may lead to safety improvement opportunities. Those improvement areas will be managed during subsequent engineering phased of the vessel
