The monograph is one of the few texts in Italian that addresses the issue of process safety and industrial risk in the light of the requirements of the Italian regulatory body on major risks and prevention of major accidents.
The text covers Legislative Decree 334/1999 (Italian transposition of the EU directive known as “Seveso II”) and the amendments introduced by Legislative Decree 238/2005. The author mentions the safety management systems for the prevention of major accidents, an organisational and management measure introduced by the directive for the control over time of major accident hazards, as codified in the in-depth decree of 7 August 2000.
