Luca Fiorentini, Executive Director of TECSA S.r.l., will participate in the 6th Edition of the “Fire and Evacuation Modeling Technical Conference” to be held in Brno (Czech Republic) from 12 to 14 September 2022.
In particular, on 13 September, together with Eng. Tafaro (National Fire Brigade) will give a speech, entitled “A Tragedy, A Full-Scale Fire Evacuation Drill, An Emergency Evacuation Simulation“.
Numerous severe fires have recently occurred aboard roll-on / roll-off (ro-ro) vessels; these episodes highlighted the complexity of emergency management combined with a serious threat to passengers. The authors, from three different perspectives, will explore the lessons learned related to risk aboard ro-ro ships, considering a real fire, a large-scale emergency drill and the results of the simulation of pedestrian dynamics. At the three lessons will be compared to discuss the work that still needs to be done to avoid the repetition of such serious events, focusing on a holistic approach to fire safety on board.
